ヨーク大主教、女王付き名誉牧師などを歴任したマクラーガン(William Daylrymple MacLagan,1826-1910)原詩による讃美歌でプロテスタントでは信仰告白式で歌われます。(The Cyber Hymnalより)
1 聖(せい)なる霊(れい)よ、愛(あい)のみ神(かみ)よ、 このしもべらに　近(ちか)づきたまえ。 洗礼受(せんれいう)けし　幼(おさな)き日(ひ)より 主(しゅ)はこの日(ひ)まで　導(みちび)きたもう。 2 この時立(ときた)てる　聖(せい)なる誓(ちか)い 祝(しゅく)させたまえ　力(ちから)の神(かみ)よ。 いかなる時(とき)も　信仰(しんこう)たもち 罪(つみ)に打(う)ち克(か)ち　命(いのち)に歩(あゆ)まん。	Holy Spirit, Lord of love, thou who camest from above, gifts of blessing to bestow on your waiting Church below, once again in love draw near to thy servants gathered here. From their bright baptismal day through their childhood's onward way, thou hast been their constant Guide, watching ever by their side; may they now, till life shall end, choose and know thee as their Friend. Give them light thy truth to see: give them life to live for thee, daily power to conquer sin, patient faith, the crown to win; shield them from temptation's breath, keep them faithful unto death. When the sacred vow is made, when the hands are on them laid, come in this most solemn hour with your strengthening gift of power, come, thou blessèd Spirit, come, make each heart thy happy home.
