作詞はかの有名なジョン・ウエスレーの弟でともにメソジスト運動に携わったチャールズ・ウエズレー(1707-1788)によるものです。
彼は生涯6000もの讃美歌を作詞しました。

「世界(せかい)の人々(ひとびと)、ヨベルのこの年(とし)
