作詞者であるクック（Martha Ann Woodbrdige Cook--1806-1874)は夫ホーリー氏（Mr.Hawley)亡きあと、コネティカット州ブリッジポート(Bridgeport, Connecticut)で牧師で編集者であるパーソン・クック（Parson Cook)と再婚。彼の死後はマサチューセッツ州リン市(Lynn, Massachusetts)に移りました。
